VoiceInk is a well liked dictation app for Mac: open source, transcription on your device and a one time price. Its pricing page also says it works only on Apple Silicon Macs with macOS 14.4 or later. If your Mac has an Intel chip, or you only want to hold a key and have your words typed without a license or AI rewriting, VoxFlow Pro for Mac does that for free. Here is an honest look at when each one fits.

Most people who search for a VoiceInk alternative fall into one of two groups. The first has an Intel MacBook or iMac and finds out at the download step that VoiceInk needs Apple Silicon. The second only wants dictation: say a sentence, see it typed, without choosing models, setting up enhancement prompts or buying a license. VoxFlow Pro for Mac is built for both. If you want your speech cleaned up and formatted by AI, VoiceInk is the better tool and VoxFlow will not replace it.
VoxFlow is signed with a Developer ID issued to BIT Technology s.r.o. and notarized by Apple, and the download page lists the SHA-256 checksum.
